Blue Color Kid

Move one place!

For those of you have have never really gone to the trouble of assembling a costume in Second Life, I highly recommend it as a way of releasing some creative energy. There are lots of occasions that necessitate having a crazy ensemble ready to go. My favorites are assembling gowns for Illusions big masquerade parties that happen a couple times a year. But I find when it comes time to go to the party, I don't always have time to put in the detail I want, and end up piecing together pretty quickly. So this year, I'm putting in a bit more effort. I still have work to do. I want to create my own bustle on this gown for one, as repeated tweaking isn't satisfying me. But since I'm a big fan of Lewis Carrol, and Siyu was good enough to send me her top hat with the "Carrol" style, I started building on that. I have two favorite scenes in Alice in Wonderland: The painting of the roses, and the mad hatter's tea party. So naturally, the hatter theme is coming together. Is still need to add a size tag to the hat, and work on the dress bit here and there, but I had to take pictures of my progress so far.

Meissa At Extropia

*tips hat*

I haz a new hat! After Siyu started dropping hats me left and right, she came out with these FANTASTIC fedoras I had to race over and get right away. Because I adore wearing fedoras. And this one is so felty. I'm in love with the Humphrey (as in Bogart of course) and its little classy tilt. Paired it with my "Silver Screen" eyes from Miriel to make a snazzy new theme on my avatar. I wonder if they make  skin to look like you're in black and white... hmm...

I know I haven't mentioned fashion or anything on this blog, (because I am so not an expert) but Siyu is a good friend, and an outstanding builder, so go check her blog and see her shop if you haven't. You'll be amazed, I promise. And if you ever wanted the most insane hats for every holiday, join the update group. She can't help herself, it's compulsive.

Hooded Meissa

Heatwave *oi oi*! We're on an island in the sun...

Been slowly tweaking our workshop like a zen garden. Start with a giant prim, add a texture, add a sculpt, add a lawn chair, make a new lawn chair, change a pose out, think "Why don't I have trees?", and eventually you end up with a relaxing oasis, surrounded by the sound of ocean waves striking your white sand beach, while the shade from the trees shifts against the vivid green grass, and the Koi slowly circle below the falling cherry blossoms drifting across your fountain feature...

Okay, I may have gone a little overboard. :D

Here's a few teaser pics. This is a view from the pond looking up toward the footbridge:

Lovely isn't it? The koi slowly circle, and I'm so glad I got a chance to use this build for something scenic. They're one of my favorite 7Seas projects. If you want a better look at them, here they are swimming away under our fountain:

Yes, I built the loungechairs custom just so we can look as relaxed as this place makes us feel. Something has to relieve the stress of day to day business. And this is a great place to sit and build. Not that that means we don't have the occasional invasion:

Finger nibblers. He was just visiting though. Jen created our permanent resident. We're not sure what he is yet... but I like to call him Bernie, and occasionally feed him the tormented souls of group chat griefers. He seems to like that.

So there's a brief tour of my home. It's a lovely respite for our building group. Just beware of Bernie if we invite you up. HE SEES ALL. ;)

And we shall expand until we have crushed all others, or at least butt up against a Starbucks...

Announcing my new store opening! Yes, hopefully this will be accompanied by the time to actually finish some of my new projects... like texture change tattoos, and my shoulder kittens. Not to mention add some more science gear that I've been wanting to work on. But I'm pretty proud of my build, with it's glowy chromyness... ooooooh, shiny. I've loved the look of Extropia since it's inception, and honestly, it's never looked better. It's just keeps growing and maturing. I highly recommend visiting sometime, or showing up for a Saturday Salon. It's really a fun community.

Anyways, here's a SLURL, and a couple shots. :)

This is a shot of Extropia Core, the main sim. The architecture is really amazing.

This is a shot of the interior of the Nexus, which is the site of the Saturday Salons where groups gather to discuss current events, various topics, and hear from a variety of guest speakers.

And you may recognize the new Diversionarium in the background in this shot of me sitting in the Nexus.

This is the new store! Hologram windows, and lots of shiny silver metal. And yes, I tacked on a lounge balcony to the side for socializing.

Here's an interior shot. Hope you stop by to visit.

Welcome! *crickets chirp*

*takes a flourished bow*

Greetings! And welcome to the blog of Meissa Thorne. Second Life personality extraordinaire! A place for wandering through the dark and dusty recesses of my brain. Or more likely, just a locale for comments from my friends and followers in another digital life.

Some of you poor souls stumbled across this place in error. Some of you know me for my work on 7Seas Fishing Game. Some for my role as the Masterharper of Gianfar(retired). Some for my random involvement in the futuristic society of Extropia. Some for my meager products in Infectious Concepts; my personal store. And some of you have encountered me in one place or another, and are now stalking me. Hi stalkers! (Tip: try messaging me. I'm pretty good at being friends with folks. Even the crazy ones.)

Regardless, I don't know how often this will be updated. I'll be loosely keeping tabs on it. As well as connecting it to my forum profile. But feel free to leave random thoughts. The more random and impossibly indecipherable, the better.
